Kilcar House 5 Roartys 5

Roartys retained the league title by getting the five points they needed in Kilcar House on Friday night last in a closely fought contest; the holders were 2-1 up after the doubles where home side had chances to take at least two of these matches. Kenneth Kennedy beat Dermot McGuire 3-1 in the opening singles to make it 3-2 to the hosts before Roartys took the next three matches to get the required five they needed while Kilcar House will reflect on points dropped, but in getting this draw it means they have been unbeaten at home in the league for two seasons now.

Roartys now play Teague’s who were the only side in the league to beat them with a 7-3 victory in the last meeting of the sides and Kilcar House play O’Donnell’s who they drew with a few weeks ago in what promises to be two cracking Shield semi-finals.
