59 players entered the 2009 Paddy Byrne Perpetual Cup which was held in Roartys and Glenhead on Saturday December 12^th in an all Glen final Dermot McGuire defeated surprise finalist Jason Cunnia 6-1 to put a new name on the cup for the first time since 2004, thanks to all who entered and helped out on what was a very enjoyable evening of darts with many great matches played over the course of the event.

2009 Leo Molloy winner Brendan Dolan being presented the cup by Aaron Molloy

Brendan Dolan from Belco, Co. Fermanagh won the 10^th Annual Leo Molloy Darts Tournament for the fourth time the tournament was held in Kilcar on Saturday the 7^th February.

Brendan defeated SWDDL player and 2006 winner John McGinley 5-2 in the final, with the match tied at 2-2 John had a number of darts to take a 3-2 lead but Brendan snatched that leg which many feel was the deciding moment as Brendan won the following two legs to retain the cup, in the semi finals Brendan beat O’Donnell’s player John Gallagher and John got revenge for his recent Con Sean defeat beating Anthony Gallagher of Roartys.

In the local tournament held in Kilcar House on Sunday evening James Byrne came from 2-0 down to defeat Michael Molly in the final.

Brendan Dolan from Belco, Co. Fermanagh won the Leo Molloy Darts Tournament making it the third time for him to win the prestigious cup which was held in Kilcar on Saturday the 8th of March.

Brendan defeated local player and 2006 winner John McGinley 5-2 in the final, Brendan raced into a 3-0 lead but John pulled back two legs but Brendan threw good steady darts to win the final two games, in the semi finals Brendan beat Mike Naulty and John ended the prospect of two brothers playing in the final by defeating JJ Dolan in a very close game.

In the ladies final Sharon Cunningham beat Carmel Cunningham 3-0.

In the local tournament held in O’Gara’s on Sunday evening Biddy’s B’s Dermot McGuire beat Bridge Bar’s James Byrne in the final.
