McGeady retains the Pat Rawdon Title

Ciaran McGeady retained the Pat Rawdon title in The Bayview Hotel, Killybegs on 13th April following a 6-3 win over fellow county star Stephen Harron, in what’s been a huge 12 months for Ciaran since winning this title for the first time and the success afterwards he was in top form all day and was the deserving winner having beaten Liam Gallagher, Cartha Boyle and Adrian Devin on route and despite the best efforts of Stephen Harron in the final it was to be his day, losing semi-finalists were Jordan Boyce and Kenneth Kennedy.

There was a total of 64 entries on the day ranging in ages from 9 to 74! Overall it was yet again a very high standard and it was great to see a great turnout from youth players.

The shield went stayed in the south west as John Con McGinley defeated Brion Domican 4-1 in the final.

Best youth thrower was Shea Deacy and best lady thrower was Rachel McGlinchey.

Thanks to Seamus Gallagher and The Bayview Hotel for hosting and the staff for the great service, to all players who helped marking matches and their cooperation on the day. To the sponsors, Heineken Ireland, GCM Painting, Mooney Boats, The Oilgary, Pelagia Feeds, Reggie’s Sales and Service, Auto Glo Valeting, Rory’s Auto Parts and SRM Car Sales your support is much appreciated. We will have a few changes next year to make things move faster next year.
