2019 Knockout Cup Final
Evelyn’s 1 O’Donnell’s 3
Holders O’Donnell’s retained the knockout cup following a comprehensive win over Evelyn’s in Kilcar House on Friday night. Evelyn’s got off to a good start with Adrian Hamilton defeating Edward Cunnea 5-1, Edward who in his first season playing has been one of the young players of the year and put up a great battle. John Meencha took game two with a 5-1 win over Adrian Byrne, Adrian took the first leg and was sitting on a double in the second leg but a 147 check out from John levelled it and he ever looked back. Noel McGinley defeated Jason Cunnea 5-0 while in the fourth match of the night Andrew Gillespie threw steady darts to defeat James Byrne 5-0; James had a 180 in that game. Colin Doherty against Ronan was the final match that did not need to be played. These teams meet again in the shield final in two weeks’ time with Evelyn’s hoping to put up a better show while O’Donnell’s looking to win their first ever treble and with county players John and Andrew in top form they will be hard to stop.
