Slieve League (Carrick) 5 Hollybush (Killybegs) 4
After a trilling last round of league matches where the top place spot went down to the wire and the Knockout and B cups going to the final legs, a similar outcome was hoped for by the large attendance in the Slieve League, Carrick on Saturday 20th last and both sides didn't disappoint.


Doubles

The Slieve League were 2-1 up following the doubles which were all close matches:
Raymound Hegerty/Adrain Hamilton 2-0 Irwin Muirhead/Alan McBrearty,
James  Byrne/Gabriel O'Neill 1-2 Philip Gallagher/David Gallagher
Andrew Gillespie/Adrain Byrne 2-0 Gerry McBrearty/Conall Doherty


Singles

In the first singles leg of the night Raymond Hegerty hit 3 tons and finished 79, Irwin Muirhead won the next with a superb 17 dart leg.  Irwin just missed tops for a 115 finish to take the deciding leg, Raymond didn't give him another chance finishing double 2, 3-1 Slieve League.

Next up we had the best game of the night with the pairing of Andrew Gillespie and Philip Gallagher, despite having 3 bounce outs Philip took the first leg on tops. Andrew hit back with some big scoring to also finish tops to make it 1-1, in the deciding leg Philip gave Andrew no chance finishing in 16 darts to make the match 3-2 Slieve League.

In the sixth match of the night Alan McBrearty took the first leg against Adrian Byrne, Adrian levelled things up on double 4 in a close second leg where both players had chances. Alan took the deciding leg hitting double 9 after Adrian missed darts at tops match score now 3-3

Fourth up was the meeting of Adrian Hamilton and David Spot Gallagher with Adrian finishing double 6 in the first and double tops in the second to put Slieve League one game away form victory, 4-3 Slieve League.

James Byrne and Conal Doherty played out a close eighth match of the night, both players had chances in the first but it was James who took the first on double 8. Conal squared things up in the second also hitting double 8. In the deciding leg which was very close James had darts to win the league but it was Conal who hit the deciding double to level the tie at 4-4 to go to the deciding match. 4-4

Last up was Gabriel O'Neill and Bernie Murren, Bernie took the first leg and it looked like the League cup would be heading to Killybegs, but Gabriel finished 50 to tie things up so it was all down final leg. In the final leg Gabriel hit 100, 100, 100, 86 and 78 to leave tops but missed to leave double 10. Bernie tried his best to get back in the match but Gabriel stepped up to sink double 10 to give Carrick side the League Cup for the first time and an unexpected treble.
