Roartys 4 Cope House 0 (in Glenhead)

Roartys wade it three in a row of knockout cups with this 4-0 win over The Cope House in a repeat of last year’s final. John McGinley opened the holders account with a 5-0 win over Paul Gillespie he had 15 and 16 dart finishes and a 180 in this game. Anthony Gallagher beat Niall Cunningham by the same score line he had a 72 check out in the third a 17 dart leg as well.

The next match was much closer Irwin Muirhead went 2-0 up with a 19 dart leg in the second; Michael Byrne made it 2-2 with the help of a 180 before Irwin went back in the lead hitting double 7. Michael then took the next three legs to win the match by taking advantage of Iriwns missed doubles to but Roartys 3-0 up.

It was Dermot McGuire in his first year with Roartys who was the match winner with a 5-2 win against Declan Cunningham, Dermot went 3-0 up winning the second leg in 13 darts finishing with a 157. Declan got off the mark with a 70 checkout, while a double 10 finish but Dermot 4-1 up another 70 out show by Declan made it 4-2 but Dermot won the cup in style with a 91 finish. The Cope were dealt a blow before the match with the unavailability of Philip Gallagher and Gerry McBrearty due to work commitments, while Roartys will try to make a clean sweep for the second year running next Friday against Big Francies.
